In WP4 taking into consideration the results from the complete set of biological in vitro and cell-based experiments, cytotoxicities, physicochemical characteristics and skin permeability, the most promising ~3 lead molecules will be carefully selected. Those lead molecules will go for further development and then will be included in innovative cosmeceutical preparations. Critical role for the selection of those hit-molecules will also play the consideration of the market trends mand already commercialized relative cosmeceutical products. Compounds selected will go on for pilot scale production. The bio-fermentation technology and downstream processes will be optimized towards this direction. Only environmental friendly extraction methods (with appropriate solvents) and techniques will be applied for the purification of the molecules (Adsorption resins, CPC, SFE etc). It has to be mentioned that possibly enriched extracts, standardized to the bioactive molecule will be used for the final product development. Formulation of lead products for the development of the cosmeceutical preparations will be carried out. Special emphasis will be given to enhancement of skin permeability by combining active molecules with other agents (e.g. enzymes) or slow released formulas. Taking into consideration all the achievements of the project as well as market demands a feasibility study focused on selected extracts/pure compounds with commercialization potential will be produced. Finally full cosmetic product safety reports according to cosmetic regulation (EC) 1223/2009 will be prepared for the final formulations.
